Latest ePTFE Technology

In 1996, Gore patented and introduced the worlds' first multi-directionally expanded PTFE tape. In 2003, GORE® Series 300 Gasket Tape was introduced as an innovative sealing solution specifically engineered for large steel flanges.

Thanks to continuous innovation, we now introduce GORE® Series 500 Gasket Tape in 2012. With recently patented technology, this cutting-edge product brings to you a significant breakthrough in creep resistance performance to maximize the operational reliability of your large steel flanged applications.

Creep resistance data based on EN13555 using 15mm x 3mm tape formed into a 150mm skived ring. PQR
values were obtained at 30 MPa initial gasket stress at 150°C.

Recently patented technology

With GORE® Series 500 Gasket Tape, achieve at least 50% greater creep resistance than with other ePTFE gasket tapes.

Importance of creep resistance

Creep resistance is the gasket's ability to resist creep relaxation, an unwanted deformation that occurs while a gasket is in service. Avoiding such deformation retains bolt load in a flanged connection to minimize leakage.

A gasket material with greater creep resistance provides more assurance that the seal will be maintained, thereby, maximizing operational reliability and sealing performance of your flanged connection.
