The GORE® Medical Membranes business builds partnerships with medical device manufactures who share our passion for helping patients who require clinical innovation.
Gore has been developing high performance expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) membranes to solve the venting, filtration and separation challenges faced by medical device designers and manufacturers for over 25 years.
GORE® Medical Membranes Venting Products are designed for high levels of gas permeability which can allow for fast pressure equalization and airflow. Some medical liquids can contain entrained gas which may present a hazard to the patient or affect the proper operation of a medical device. GORE® Medical Membranes can aid the dissipation of these gas bubbles while retaining liquids that are under pressure.
GORE® Medical Membranes Filtration Products meet the challenges of filtering gases and liquids. Due to the microporous structure of Gore's ePTFE membranes, fluids can pass through the membrane with low pressure drop, while removing contaminants.
GORE® Medical Membranes Separation Products can incorporate technologies that selectively capture or pass valuable components within a fluid. Gore's ability to engineer the membrane microstructure and surface can improve device performance. Examples include improving analyte purity for in-vitro diagnostic assays and maximizing moisture vapor transmission for breathing systems.
