Signal Integrity Lab: Environmental and Stress Testing

Gore’s Environmental and Stress Testing Lab characterizes the effects of harsh environments on our cable assemblies. This analysis applies to life testing for products in medical, military and aerospace, and industrial applications.

We explore the environmental extremes of temperature, pressure, and atmosphere. Also, the mechanical tortures of pulling, crushing, impacting, torqueing, flexing, abrasion, stiffening, bend radius contact retention are used to determine product performance when “failure is not an option!”

Finally, we test our cable’s electrical performance to ensure that our cable assemblies will perform in the harshest environments required. RF power handling, electrical performance over temperature, dielectric insulation resistance, contact resistance, shell-to-shell contact resistance, and S-parameters are some of the electrical standards that we test. We test the extremes; so that quantitatively, we know that our products will perform to meet your requirements.

The lab provides:

  • Temperature cycling
  • Altitude testing
  • Shock and vibration testing
  • Flex-life testing
  • Mechanical stability
